Today was supposed to be 13 miles.
I didn't run barely at all this week. Last Sunday I ran 18 miles and it really tore up my body. I ran on Thursday of this week and it still felt like I had just finished the 18. My knees started hurting immediately. I needed a break. I needed to listen to my body. My knees can't be wrecked when I go in to my marathon!
This week I have a 20 mile run though and I will be completing it. I am excited to hit the road again.
I had to remind myself that I am doing this marathon just for fun. I don't have a PR to beat since it will be my first one. So my goal is to finish it and enjoy it. Not to physically harm myself along the way.
I did do a short hike today. The elevation was steep.
